Meg Blaylock, MS, LPC, NCC-owner
Meg is a licensed professional counselor and has been in practice for over 20+ years. Through the years, she has had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of mental health settings. Her experience includes working with emotionally disturbed children, as well as, with adolescents involved in addiction. Meg has worked with adults to help them overcome problems caused by trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, grief issues, parenting and anger management. In addition, Meg has experience working in the substance abuse and recovery support field helping individuals find treatment and heal from their addictions.
Meg’s approach to counseling involves a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Solution-Focused Therapy and Reality Based Therapy. She has been part of a treatment team tasked with counseling people affected by the Deep-Water Horizon Crisis along the Alabama Gulf Coast where she worked in the field to support boat captains and fishermen who lost their livelihood. During this time, she was also a member of a Disaster Response Team where she worked with other clinicians to plan for ensuring mentally ill patients received the care they needed during natural disasters such as hurricanes. She has been trained in crisis prevention intervention and psychological first aid and is the former director of a day treatment program that received state recognition in the state of Alabama. More recently, she worked for a local clinic that was named "Among the Best Counselors" in the Golden Triangle.
